Alternative Behavior Treatment Centers provides several levels of substitute care on our Lake County campus.
Residential Care
Each of the residential programs focuses on milieu treatment in a safe and secure environment on our rural 14 acre campus. Accountability for individual behaviors is encouraged through ABTC's Phases of Treatment and Privileges. Unit placement is based upon a thorough assessment and in the best interest of the youth. Treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of professionals that include psychiatry, nursing, psychologists, master's level therapists and adjunctive therapy professionals. Collaboration with families, the courts, other professionals and the community assists with a smooth transition to the next level of care. Youth are encouraged to explore continued educational and vocational options through our on-site school and vocational training.
- HIGH-END, Staff Secure, Residential Programs for Thirty-four males, 15-21 y/o with histories of:
- Sexually reactive/ abuse behaviors
- Conduct disorders
- Psychiatric disorders
- Development Delayed / sexually abusive (Stop Program)
- MODERATE, Transitional Group Home (New Foundations) for Six males, 15-21 y/o with histories of:
- Sexually abusive behaviors
- Developmental Delay / sexually abusive
- Psychiatric Disorders
Supervised Transitional Care
The New Steps Transitional Supervised Living is housed on the Lake County Campus. Youth reside independently in one of 10 studio apartments built in 1999. The unique program assists males, 17-21 y/o move into community-based living by offering services that encourage self-determination and adulthood. Highly individualized service plans include education (on / off campus high school, college), vocational programming and independent living skills. The optional Launch Program is available to support youth who have successfully completed the program. Continued programming and case management in the community is available. |
