TEAM WEST

The Team West program is designed for cognitively delayed, sexually aggressive and mentally ill adolescent males.  Treatment components from the STOP and Patriots program are integrated in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans which are based on the individual treatment needs of each resident.  Therapy and counseling services (individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psycho-ed groups, vocational services, activity therapy and art therapy) are conducted with special consideration of each resident’s specific cognitive and psychiatric disorders.  The goal is to help each resident learn how to manage their thoughts, feelings and behaviors and to practice their relapse prevention plan. In order to create a stable environment, the unit structure emphasizes a concrete approach of ensuring accountability and consistency.
