STOP RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

(Safety Treatment Opportunity Prevention – Developmentally Delayed)

The STOP program serves developmentally delayed, adolescent males with IQ’s ranging from 50 to the 70’s or other developmental delays or disabilities.  The STOP program is designed to help youth stop negative behaviors and replace them with positive behaviors.  The STOP program is based on a “stop light therapy concept” – “red” behaviors are to be “stopped”, “yellow” behaviors are “caution”, and “green” behaviors are “go”.  The youth learn to apply this concept to their thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  STOP youth exhibit poor boundaries and social skills, with and without aggressive behaviors.
