NEW STEPS

(Supervised Transitional Living)

ABTC’s New Steps program is a supervised transitional living residence located on the ABTC Mundelein campus.  New Steps is designed for adolescent males ages 17-21 who are in the final phase of treatment and reintegration into the community. New Steps offers the youth a single occupancy, studio apartment.  New Steps residents will be gradually reintegrated into the community with decreased monitoring as they progress throughout the program.    Youth appropriate for New Steps must be able to acknowledge their offenses, internalize their responsibility for their behaviors and have a community and family relapse prevention plan.  Youth have the opportunity to complete their high school education, attend local college/vocational training and maintain a part-time paid job on the ABTC campus or in the community.  New Steps clients also have access to the day treatment program.
